On page 39, I state the main point of chapter two ("Friendship: Approaching the God Who is Love"):
"If we do not increase our experiences of intimacy on the human plane, we limit the kind of intimate relationship we can experience with God."
- What evidence is marshaled to support this claim?
- What other evidence might be brought to bear on the issue?
- Should this claim be modified? If so how?
- Why do you think "friendship" with God is not commonly discussed in Christian circles? What tensions underlie this concept?
